The operative word here is "attack," for the Ramblers hit these songs so hard you could almost see the dust fly off........ Where the words left off, the solos took over, evoking the aching hunger behind the lyrics. Tarbox's Delta bottleneck guitar and Daniel Kellar's mountain fiddle created an odd blend of sliding notes that dissolved any racial and genre boundaries within the music. Shoving everything along with garage-rock rudeness was Johnny Sciascia, the skinny upright bassist, and Jon Cohan, the burly drummer. It was as fine a root-rock as I've seen....... The Ramblers are an act now at its peak, feeling the full power of their gifts."
